Well played to all entrants.
On the subject of competitions, I would like to remind everyone that if you wish to enter the Board knockout competitions, which are drawn at the start of April, you need to have five qualifying competition cards entered within the last twelve months, so don’t leave it too late to get cards in or risk missing out on entry. In addition, this year it is proposed that five cards should be maintained before each knockout match so it's important to keep your competition handicap up to date. More details will be on IG entry for registration on competitions.
I’ve mentioned in previous blogs that course protection is a pivotal aim during the winter period and preparation for getting the course in peak condition for the spring and summer. We will shortly be looking to implement personal fairway mats. These will be compulsory when on the course, in competition and general play. From research conducted, mats help maintain and protect the fairways from winter divots and wear and tear. Many courses nationally and locally are adopting these for the winter period and have reported a noticeable difference in course conditions come spring and summer. Further details will be notified before commencement of use, which is planned from 1st February.
May I please ask all players to sign in on the tee sheet and also take names out if not playing. This still remains an issue and signing in/out helps with knowledge of who’s playing, peak time usage, and when there are tee slots available.
Till next week.
