A full week of news updates start with yet another award for Bush Hill Park with the Club winning Members Club of the Year at the Golf Course Awards ceremony held at the Emirates Stadium last Thursday. We were in prestigious company with competition from clubs all over the UK such as Royal Ascot, Close House, Sunningdale Heath, and others in our category.
Again it goes without saying this is another fantastic achievement and recognition for the Club, so well done everyone and keep up the good work. Further details can be found on the Golf Club awards website as well as the Club website.
On Saturday and the main highlight of the week was the Kids' Christmas Party. Excited children had entertainment, music, food, and finally Father Christmas arrived with gifts and chats, and reminded them to write and post letters to Lapland if they had been well behaved over the year!

With the course closed early Saturday, then reopening a little later, two entrants participated in the Winter League and had a little competition between themselves. Graham Allen scored 34 and Dave Boss 33.
On Sunday, the course was carry only, so the number in the fourball draw / Turkey Trot was down on previous draws but 16 members braved the conditions and only got proper wet over the final few holes. The winners were John Bayer and I and runners up Brian McDermott and Rob Collett. A big thank you to all participants for your support on this monthly event. Next date is January 4th.
We trialed the winter fairway mats Danny ordered in and I think the general reception was positive although taking little getting used to. This may be something we are looking to introduce for this time of year. I understand other local courses are also trialing these mats. Course protection is a major priority of the course management team so always looking for new ideas as well as general reminders to replace divots and repair pitchmarks.
Next Saturday, December 13th is the Members' Christmas Party. There are still some tickets available so please contact Debbie or book on website directly and join one of the main festive events of Christmas.
