Another successful week for our club teams, with the Foxes (pictured) through to the next round of the Abrey cup after beating Pinner Hill 5½ to 3½, and the Rabbits beating Finchley four games to one - well played all - a great result.
The Rangers are playing as I type this, so fingers crossed for another win for them.
Saturday saw seventy players compete for the Bushguarders National Trophy. Congratulations to Stephen Preston who won with a very creditable 40 points. A special mention also to Tim Clarke who had a hole in one on the 7th!

Booking is now open on IG for Captain’s Charity Day on May 5th. Please don’t worry if you can’t make up a team, we will find one for you. If anyone is able to donate any raffle prizes or premium lots for the charity auction, please do reach out, whatever you can donate will be greatly received for a fantastic cause. We now have six Spurs legends confirmed to play in the Charity Day, with hopefully a further two, for the die hard Spurs fans, there will be the opportunity to play with two Legends on the day, confirmed pairs so far are Ossie Ardiles and Micky Hazard, Ricky Villa and Pat Jennings, John Lacey and Mark Falco, and TBA John Pratt and Martin Chivers or Graham Roberts. Please let me know if you would like to pair up with one of these groups, they are kindly playing on behalf of the charity so we will be auctioning the opportunity with final bids closing before the May 1st- please get in touch with me or the office to place a bid.
Danny and I are very much looking forward to playing our Captain and pro Challenges, which will culminate with whichever pair manages to beat us by the biggest margin, being invited to play a rematch at Royal Cromer Golf Club, please email Danny or myself and we can book you in.
A bit of housekeeping - when you enter a card for handicap purposes, please try your best to make the scores or strokes as legible as possible - every effort will be made to decipher them, but they will be voided if they are too difficult to read.
Please remember to repair pitch marks and divots - this helps enormously with the repair of the course and greens if done straight away. Also, as the hut is self-service on a Saturday for the time being, please leave it as you wish to find it, unfortunately it’s becoming messier every week and if it can’t be kept clean, we will have to keep it closed.
As we are now underway for the season, a reminder that the 13th is the Captain’s Charity Hazard. If you go into the water then a donation into any of the buckets around the clubhouse will be gratefully received, if like me that does happen a little too often! Then an idea to see you through the year could be a one-off donation via the JustGiving Page of £10.
