It was fantastic seeing so many people at the prize-giving on Friday evening. The Chinese Buffet beforehand was very good indeed, and congratulations to all the winners throughout the year. A great atmosphere during the course of the evening, I’m sure there were certainly one or two sore heads out on the course Saturday morning - my winning Edgar Collar playing partner Matt Bowen being one of them!
For some, the playing conditions on Saturday’s Winter League 6 were just perfect, and the scores reflected accordingly. Congratulations to David Hall who won Division One with 42 points and Steve Doherty for winning Division 2 with a very impressive 44 points. Special mention of Simon Collins who shot the lowest gross of 74, which he tells me was the pressure of playing with the Captain.
Division One results (points)
David Hall (42)
Simon Collins (39) lowest gross 74
Michael Stainton (37)
Division Two results (points)
Steve Doherty (44)
Martin Hacker (42)
Nelius Curtin (42)
Danny and I are very much looking forward to playing our Captain and Pro Challenges, which will culminate with which ever pair manages to beat us by the biggest margin, being invited to play a rematch at Royal Cromer Golf Club. Please email me or Danny and we can book you in.
A special request to all players this coming Saturday; raffle tickets will be on sale for the Christmas Fayre, so if you could bring a small amount of that seemingly very rare and valuable commodity formally known as cash, it would be much appreciated. Also, if any member is able to donate something for said raffle, non-golf related, it would be very gratefully received - do get in touch if you can.
The next fourball draw, the turkey trott is on December 1st.
As we start the new season, a reminder that the 13th is the Captain’s Charity Hazard. If you go into the water then a donation into any of the buckets around the clubhouse will be gratefully received, if like me that does happen a little too often! Then an idea to see you through the year could be a one-off donation via the JustGiving Page of £10.
Happy Golfing.
